Innocence
Innocence explores femininity in reflection to virginity and womanhood.
When does a shift from girl to woman happen? The lightness of childhood fleeting with growing societal pressures and constant physical changes. What role does virginity play in this? Through the whiteness of the dress against rocky pools I explore the claustrophobic nature of sexualization women face often from a very young age. The slow and destructive process of stripping them away from their innocence in daily acts of objectifications.
The close relationship between shame, fear, confusion and the naive nature that accompanies this journey. The landscape of the ocean captures the essence of change, growth and uncertainty.
Submissive nature of forced innocence.
